Early 18th-century Parisian design dial with polished Roman numerals:
Dial design is based on Breguet’s earlier sketches when he was fervently striving to create masterpieces for French aristocrats, all the way up to the Queen, Marie-Antoinette herself. At that time, Roman Numeration was a sign of success and aplomb, reserved for only the dandiest and sophisticated. The subtle touches and vintage beauty of this watch lend style to everything from business meetings to a romantic rendezvous; from a trip to the countryside to the exclusive social events.
Breguet Pomme Stylized Hands:
This hand style is a classically curved shape with a hole in the top. Named after the brilliant watchmaker and innovator Abraham-Louis Breguet, the design became his namesake among many other brilliant horological breakthroughs.
Self-Winding Automatic Movement:
The heart of any self-winding automatic movement is the Rotor: a semi-circular metal piece encased within the back of the watch. The rotor is designed to manipulate the effects of gravity using it’s weight to be the energy source for the movement. When worn on the wrist, your arm swings back and forth, and this piece moves back and forth inside the watch, which winds the mainspring. Therefore, every move of your arm serves as a tiny ‘refresh’ for the mechanism and keeps the watch wound easily. The spring in the watch typically stores enough energy to keep the watch going for about a day and a half, if you leave it off your wrist.
